Kenya Strengthens Compliance with USDA-APHIS for Pelargonium Exports

Last week, facilities handling Pelargonium underwent an annual certification audit by USDA-APHIS to ensure compliance with the Ralstonia Exclusion Framework (REP). Pelargonium is a genus of flowering plants that includes species of perennials, succulents, and shrubs, commonly known as geraniums, pelargoniums, or storkbills. The audits were conducted at facilities in Thika, Juja, and Naivasha as part of Kenya’s ongoing commitment to exporting high quality Pelargonium cuttings to the USA. This process will ensure adherence to plant health standards, therefore promoting safe trade.
