Kenya's High Commissioner Designate to Malaysia Meets KEPHIS MD

Headquarters, Nairobi – Amb. John Ekitela Moru, High Commissioner-Designate to Malaysia paid a courtesy call to KEPHIS MD Prof. Theophilus Mutui where they discussed matters of mutual interest between the two countries, particularly those of phytosanitary nature. These included opening up of the Malaysian market to more of Kenya’s horticultural produce. Currently, Kenya exports avocado to the Asian nation, but with the potential for more fruits, flowers and vegetables. There is also potential for continuous engagements on phytosanitary(plant health) compliance as well as study visits of staff of the two nations.
