KEPHIS officially launched its strategic plan in a colourful ceremony attended by various stakeholders in the seed, phytosanitary,trade and analytical chemistry. The launch o the 2023/2027 Plan comes at an opportune time when the government is implementing the Agriculture Policy 2021. The policy addresses issues of enhancing phytosanitary protection of agriculture and biodiversity, raising agricultural productivity and alleviating poverty.

This Strategic Plan is the 5th since KEPHIS was established and has brought the Institution to the current status as a world-class regulator. KEPHIS is confident that with the support of all stakeholders and partners, we shall attain our vision of “Excellence in Plant Health and Quality Assurance in Agriculture,” said MD Prof. Theophilus Mutui. Board Chair Hon. Joseph M’eruaki stated that “The implementation of the Strategic Plan will be regularly monitored and evaluated by the Board and management to ensure that emerging issues are identified, and addressed promptly." The new tagline for the Strategic Plan is Plant Health, Our Business.
