KEPHIS in conjunction with the National Potato Council of Kenya (NPCK) held a courtesy meeting at KEPHIS headquarters to

discuss key areas affecting seed potato sub-sector in Kenya.

They discussed ;
I) seed potato online data availability.
II) Improving seed potato production, distribution and any emerging challenges.
III) Training of private seed potato inspectors
IV) seed potato export and import

V) Fast- tracking release of seed produced used potato multiplication technologies such as hybrid True potato seed.

This aligns with KEPHIS’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan goal to produce and distribute quality seeds, strengthen seed quality assurance mechanisms, and enhance market access for Kenya’s agricultural produce and products.
